Bhudev C. Das

Dr. Das is an outstanding scientist in the field of Cancer Research, Tumor Virology, Human transcription regulation, cancer stem cell and cancer drug delivery. During the last 45 years of his distinguished research career he has published more than 250 research papers in reputed international journals and distinguished himself as a renowned Molecular Oncologist. After his M.Sc. and Ph.D. from Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi, he worked more than 12 years with the Nobel Laureate, Prof. Harald zurHausen (Nobel Prize, 2008) at German Cancer Research Centre (DFKZ), Heidelberg, Germany and later pioneered in India the work on Human Papillomavirus (HPV)that causes cervical and other cancers. He is a Director of ICMR-NICPR and lead National and WHO Regional HPV Referral Centre for South-East Asia. Later he moved to Delhi (University as director of ACBR and presently the chair of AIMMSCR and dean of health and allied science at amity university Noida). Dr. Das is the recipient of most prestigious Dr. B.C. Roy National Award of MCI, Sandoz Oration Award of ICMR and is a Fellow of International Union Against Cancer (UICC), Geneva. He is a Fellow of all national science and medical academies, elected President of Indian Association for Cancer Research (IACR). PI and WHO expert advisor of the GlobalHPV LabNet & HPV Vaccine Program. Dr. Das has received several prestigious awards e.g., Ranbaxy Medical Research Award,Dr. P.N. Wahi Award of ICMR, Ramniklal J. Kinarivala Cancer Research Award of Gujarat Cancer Research Institute, Ahmedabad, FICCI Award, and SAASCR Award. Dr. Das is J.C. Bose National Fellow (2008-2016). So far 35 Ph.D. and 78 MD/MS/DM/DNB/DM students have received their degrees under his supervision and guidance of Dr. Das and he is Associate Editor, editorial board member and reviewer of several reputed national and international journals.
