As a Researcher at CESAM (http://www.cesam.ua.pt/) is particularly interested in the application of fit-for-purpose Analytical methods for decoding complex samples and characterization of the environmental quality.
Supervision and co-supervision of more than 20 Ph.D. students at the University of Aveiro in the period of 1993-2020. Supervision or co-supervision of 14 Post-Doc researchers. Participation in 25 R&D projects. Editor of 9 Books. In 2011 he was the winner of the Hofmeister effect challenge Springer (Analytical and Bioanalytical Chemistry). In 2007 he was awarded the FCT "Estímulo à Excelência". Publication of more than 500 papers in international journals do SCI. In January 2021 he has an h-index ranging from 68 on SCOPUS to 80 on Google Scholar and total citations ranging from 18665 (SCOPUS) to26021 (Google Scholar).
