简介

I have a PhD in Economics from Boston University, Massachussets and a degree in Economics from the Universidad de la República, Uruguay. I am currently a Professor of Microeconomics, Econometrics and Health Economics at the Department of Economics, Universidad de Montevideo, Uruguay. My areas of academic interest include Health Economics and the Economics of Human Capital. I have conducted research on the implications of social interactions on behavior (statistical discrimination, relative deprivation, peer effects), and on the economic impact of several programs and policies, including prenatal care, anti-tobacco campaigns, drug prevention and treatment programs, and education interventions aimed at parents and adolescents. I have been funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH), the Inter-American Development Bank, the Latin American Development Bank (CAF), the Uruguayan National Agency of Research and Innovation, and the Uruguayan Ministry of Public Health.
