Head of Department of Biology of University of Aveiro, Portugal (2001-2019);
Former SETAC-Europe president (Society of Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry).
Scientific Coordinator of the proposal for the creation of ECOMARE, University of Aveiro, and Responsible for ECOMARE management till 2018
