Dr Aristotelis Kyriakis received his B.Sc in Physics from the University of Patras (1989) and his Ph.D. in Particle Physics from the National Technical University of Athens (1994). He joined the Institute of Nuclear and Particle Physics (INPP) of NCSR “Demokritos” in Athens, Greece in 2003 and he is now serving as a Director of Research in the same institute. His research interests are solid state sensor development and electronics design and physics analysis in the framework of LHC experiments. He is the head of the laboratory of Radiation Source Localization and Identification using both analytical and MVA techniques (http://ailab.inp.demokritos.gr). He has successfully supervised four Ph.D theses in Greece and one in abroad. He is a co-author of more than 1000 publication and he is currently working on the Silicon strip tracker upgrade of the CMS/LHC experiment.
